Workout Suggestions for a Busy College Grad?
In college it was easier to find time to go to the gym. I often went in the middle of the afternoon or late at night. The gym wasn’t crowded at these times and I typically had plenty of energy. Since graduating college and starting a full-time job, I’ve had trouble motivating myself to workout. In the summer and early fall I enjoyed running outside in the evening after work, but it’s still too cold to do that. Plus, if I workout when I get home I feel like that’s the only thing I have time to do.
I’m going to the beach in exactly one month and summer is right around the corner, so I’d really like to get back into a workout routine. Does anyone have suggestions for how to fit a workout into a busy schedule and make it enjoyable? I’d love to heard ideas! I’ll post my workout plan later this week after I get your feedback.

My advice is to be excited to work-out. Once you get going, you think about how good it feels to be active and that motivates you to go. First off, make a great playlist. Second, drink lots of water during the day to stay hydrated, especially in the winter. And third, have options. Going to the gym can be great, but when I don’t want to leave the house I do yoga at home by listening to a 45 minute yoga practice I bought on iTunes. There is so much exercise stuff for at home when it is cold out, such as YouTube videos and iTunes podcasts.

Hi Erin!!
Thanks so much for your comment on my blog. This is a great blog you have here
I’m only in my third year of university and I have 2.5 semesters left but I have a feeling it’s going to FLY by! I’m going to add your blog to my reader so I can check in more often!
As for working out, I’m currently experiencing that flexibility you talked about and it’s wonderful! I just go to the gym whenever I have a chance, between classes, after classes etc.
However, last summer I was working a full time day job and a part time evening job. The only way I could get my workout in was early in the morning. So, at 5:30 am, five days a week, I’d roll out of bed and head to the gym! It sounds daunting, and getting up that early can be hard, but honestly after the first week you get in the habit of getting up that early and it’s really not so bad! Plus, I LOVE how I feel after a hard workout! Hope that helps

Lauryn - I checked out some of the workout videos on iTunes and bought a yoga video and an abs video. Definitely a great option for taking a break from my usual workouts. Thanks for the tip!
Amber - Wow! I don’t know if I could do 5:30 a.m. since I’m a bit of a night-owl, but I’m impressed with your dedication.
I do like the way I feel after a workout though, so maybe one of these days I set the alarm for 5:30. I’ll keep you posted!
